<p>During visual examination of charge, walls and internal accessories, gas is blown discontinuously in direction of part of charge or furnace being observed. Preferably, gas used is inert to materials which it contacts. Specifically, control device includes gas blower pipeset inside probe's hollow outer walls. End of pipe is inside probe's control conduit, beyond transparent protective device which separates probehs optical system from atmosphere in furnace. Applications are controlling running of blast furnace. Advantages include improving clearness of image obtained.</p> |
