<p>A turbocharger in which, by the use of a simple structure, turbulence of exhaust gas at the exit of a turbine impeller is reduced to increase efficiency of a turbine. The turbocharger has a seal device (25) placed upstream, in exhaust gas flow, of the position of a through hole (24) provided in a rear exhaust introduction wall (11) and through which a vane shaft (16b) penetrates. The seal device (25) prevents exhaust gas in a scroll path (8) from leaking to the turbine impeller (4) side through a gap (19). The pressure P2 in the gap (19) communicating with the through hole (24) in the rear exhaust gas introduction wall (11) is adapted to be held lower than the pressure P1 in an exhaust nozzle (9), and this moves a nozzle vane (15) toward the rear exhaust gas introduction wall (11).</p> |
