PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently maintain engine operation performance, by reducing a bubble quantity sent to the main jet downstream side, in a carburetor of an engine having a fuel passage communicating with a fuel reservoir on the main jet opening part side from the constant fuel chamber side on the float chamber bottom part side. SOLUTION: This carburetor opens-closes the fuel passage 7a by closely contacting or separating a valve element part of a plunger 11 by driving of a fuel cut solenoid 10A with or from an inlet side seat part of the fuel passage 7a communicating with the fuel reservoir 7b on the opening part side of a main jet 5. The plunger 11 is formed as a two-stage structure of extending a center bar 11a composed of a columnar member so as to coincide with the extending direction of the fuel passage 7a from a tip surface continuing with the valve element part. When the fuel passage 7a is opened, a part for inserting the center bar 11a is reduced in a maximum flow passage width while forming a predetermined clearance between an inner peripheral surface of the fuel passage 7a and an outer peripheral surface of the center bar 11a, to restrict the inflow of bubbles into the fuel reservoir 7b.
