PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a source and type of unspecified products, without having to newly add the discrimination means required. SOLUTION: In a control method of an imaging apparatus, features of a product are extracted, based on the photographed image of the product, and based on the product data containing at least one of source data and type data of the product, at least either the source or the type of the product is identified.
