<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of surely transmitting rotation torque of a steering shaft even when connection by welding between a shaft and a shaft joint is insufficient. <P>SOLUTION: An extension shaft 4 is inserted from the other end 512 of a connection cylinder part 51, a male serration 41 formed on the extension shaft 4 is serration-engaged with a female serration 52, and a shaft part 42 of the extension shaft 4 is tightly fitted in a fitting hole 53. Next, the other end 512 of the connection cylinder part 51 and an outer periphery of the shaft part 42 of the extension shaft 4 are welded to be connected, and a welding connection part 56 is formed.
