PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a filling factor of waste toner into a container by preventing the waste toner from being unevenly accumulated in the container, in a configuration having an endless belt-like second image carrier superimposing toners on a plurality of first image carriers, a cleaning member removing residual toner on the second image carrier and the container in which the toner removed by the cleaning member directly drops by gravity and is stored. SOLUTION: The width L2 of the opening 19b-1 of the container 19b is larger than the width L1 of the cleaning member 19a, the container 19b is movable in its longitudinal direction, while keeping such a relationship that the longitudinal width of the cleaning member 19a is always positioned in the range of the opening 19b-1, and a stop position after the movement is changed to store the dropped toner.
