A liquid crystal aligning agent, and an LCD device containing an LC alignment layer obtained from the aligning agent are provided to reduce the accumulated charge with maintaining a high voltage holding ratio and to improve printing property. A liquid crystal aligning agent comprises a polymer obtained by the reaction of at least one selected from the group consisting of the tetracarboxylic dianhydrides represented by the formulas 1 and 2 and at least one selected from the group consisting of the diamines represented by the formulas 3 to 6, and/or its imidation polymer; a compound represented by the formula 7; and a solvent, wherein R1 to R4 are independently a C1-C40 linear, branched or cyclic alkyl group, or a C4-C40 linear, branched or cyclic alkenyl group, and 1-15 hydrogen atoms of R1 to R4 can be substituted with a hydrogen atom; X1 is a monovalent group represented by -R5(C2H4O)a(C3H6O)bR6 or -R5(C2H4O)aR6; m and n are an integer of 1020; R5 is independently a methylene group or a polymethylene group; R6 is an alkyl group; a and b are independently an integer of 1-20.
