PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing bar which alleviates working labor necessary for producing the same, allows component members forming the reinforcing bar to be correctly connected together, and exerts more excellent reinforcing effect than before, and to provide a reinforcing bar producing method. SOLUTION: The reinforcing bar 2 is embedded in a sheathing member 1, and formed of a reinforcing mesh 2a and reinforcing ribs 2b. Each reinforcing rib 2b is formed by winding a thin plate portion 3 integrally formed at both ends of the reinforcing mesh 2a, on an axis of a long anchor steel bar 4 along a lengthwise direction of the thin plate portion 3. The anchor steel bar 4 consists of a steel bar main body 4a, and bolt portions 4b integrally formed at both edges of the steel bar main body 4a, and the bolt portions 4b are bent at right angles to the steel bar main body 4a to be protrudable to a rear surface of the sheathing member 1. Thus the reinforcing bar can be obtained by omitting conventional labor of welding work, and the reinforcing bar having the component members correctly connected together can be obtained.
