PURPOSE: A drilling device and a drilling method are provided to form a groove or a through hole in a processing object using an optical beam, and to improve workability by reducing working and manufacturing costs. CONSTITUTION: A drilling device(10) is composed of light source(11), a first optical beam, a polarized light splitter(15), a second optical beam scanner(22), and an optical beam combiner(24). The first optical beam polarizes the light of the light source in one direction. The polarized light splitter divides the light into the first optical beam and a second optical beam. The second optical beam scanner scans the second optical beam. The optical beam combiner guides the optical beams to a processing object by coupling the first and second optical beams. |
