The method involves scanning a verification system, where controlling of the verification system takes place in such a way that basing on an identified region of a component surface (1) and estimation, the shape of the component is determined. The estimation is created at an edge (3) of an identified region (4) for a part of the edge. This estimation is used for the computation of a path (6) for the scanning system. An independent claim is included for a device for the execution of the inspection method.
