PURPOSE: An imaging apparatus, an imaging method and a recording medium having an imaging program are provided to reduce necessary capacity of a buffer in photographing extracting image data. CONSTITUTION: An imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit, a holding unit, an update unit, a deletion unit, and a storage unit. The imaging device continuously photographs a plurality of image data. The holding unit maximally holds the image data unit until a holding time passes. The update unit updates imaging number information corresponding to each image data held in the holding unit whenever image data is photographed. The deletion unit deletes before the holding time elapses. The storage unit matches and stores the newest image data and imaging number information showing the newest image data in the holding unit.
