1335902 Deformation imaging KALLE A G 19 April 1971 [2 March 1970] 22724/71 Heading G2H The production of a deformation image by heatsoftening a thermoplastic layer 2 bearing a charge image is effected in two successive stages: slowly by a first heat source 1 (heating for example to 75‹C) and rapidly by a second heat source 6 (heating for example to 125‹C). The thermoplastic layer may be dielectric or photo-conductive, and may comprise styrene polymer or copolymer. The first heating may be direct heating by heated gas or may be by means of a suction plate heated by resistance heating or heated liquid or gas.
