METHOD FOR PREPARING POLYOL USING COCATALYST AND THE POLYOL POLYMERIZED BY THE METHOD

A method for manufacturing a polyol, and a polyol prepared by the method are provided to increase polymerization rate in case of ring opening polymerization by adding a co-catalyst, thereby preparing a polyol having a relatively higher molecular weight. A method for manufacturing a polyol comprises the step of polymerizing an epoxy-based monomer by using a catalyst comprising a bimetallic cyan-based compound or a polymetallic cyan-based compound, an organic complexing agent, and a polyether polyol having a number average molecular weight of 500 or more, to prepare a polyol, wherein the activity of the bimetallic cyan-based compound or the polymetallic cyan-based compound and the induction time by polymerizing it with the bimetallic cyan-based compound or the polymetallic cyan-based compound and an ionic liquid as a co-catalyst.
