ADSORBENT OF KETOAMINE-CONTAINING PROTEIN

PURPOSE:To obtain a safe and inexpensive adsorbent capable of efficiently adsorbing and removing a large amt. of ketoamine-containing protein present in body fluids by fixing a compd. having a terminal functional group represented by a specific formula to a porous water-insoluble carrier. CONSTITUTION:A compd. having a terminal functional group represented by formula (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each an org. group and (x) is 0 or 1) is fixed to a porous water-insoluble carrier (e.g. porous cellulose gel) to constitute a ketoamine-containing protein adsorbent. The porous water-insoluble carrier is hydrophilic and a terminal functional group represented by OH is present in the porous water-insoluble carrier. Further, the exclusion limit mol.wt. of the porous water-insoluble carrier is 20000-5000000. Ketoamine-containing protein is removed by bringing the ketoamine-containing protein adsorbent into contact with body fluids containing ketoamine-containing protein. This adsorbent is inexpensive and can efficiently adsorb and remove ketoamine-containing protein contained in body fluids.
