PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem that a vacuum cleaner is not user-friendly for a woman or an elderly of weak power because some gripping power is required to lift a suction tool of the vacuum cleaner in order to keep away from an obstacle or the like. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: a cleaner body incorporating an electric blower generating a suction air; the suction tool 6 which sucks dust together with the suction air; and an extension tube 4 connecting the cleaner body with the suction tool 6. At a position which is rear and obliquely upper of a grip 1, a support section 3 is provided which contacts with a section between the root of the little finger of the hand gripping the grip 1 to the wrist joint of the hand and supports the section. Thus, the vicinity of the rear section of the little finger is supported by the support section 3 when lifting the suction tool 6, so that the suction tool 6 becomes easy to lift and it becomes easy to clean while keeping away from the obstacle and the end of a carpet or the like during cleaning.
