<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply producing monogalacturonic acid at a low cost, which has been difficult to obtain in a high yield until now. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing monogalacturonic acid comprises, in treating a pectin-containing natural product, preferably beet, beet pulp, apple, apple fiber etc., with an enzyme to have activity acting on the pectin-containing natural product and liberating monogalacturonic acid so as to obtain monogalacturonic acid, directly treating the pectin-containing natural product with the enzyme without separating and extracting pectin from the natural product. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
