PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system of high reliability without communication collision in which lowering of communication speed or occurrence of communication failure is prevented even if a large number of terminals are connected. SOLUTION: The wireless communication system 10 includes a master module 11 and a plurality of slave modules 12 for mutual communication with the master module 11. The wireless communication system 10 is configured so that the master module 11 transmits a data signal SA to each slave module 12 by optical communication and that each slave module 12 transmits a data signal SB to the master module 11 by radio wave communication.
