PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control type engine capable of preventing damage of wire harness. SOLUTION: In the electronic control type engine having an electronic control component 2 mounted on a cylinder head 1 and having a control means 3 controlling operation of the electronic control component 2 through the wire harness 4, a head cover 5 is mounted at an upper part of the cylinder head 1, a wire harness storage chamber 7 is provided above a head cover ceiling wall 6, the wire harness 4 is stored in the wire harness storage chamber 7, and a cap 8 is detachably put on the wire harness storage chamber 7. A plurality of wire fitting grooves is provided in the wire harness storage chamber 7, and it is preferable to fit a plurality of sections of a wire 10 of the wire harness 4 into the plurality of wire fitting grooves.
