PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device of road traffic information for displaying a necessary road map to a driver without providing any large capacity storage device such as DVD when a violation detector is present in a close range. SOLUTION: This receiving device 10 of road traffic information is provided with: a GPS receiving device 100; a violation detector alarm device 200 or the like equipped with a location registration data memory 220 in which road traffic information corresponding to a locations is registered, a CPU 201 and a notification part 270; and simple road map data 226 associated with each of the installation locations of speed violation detectors, wherein whether the speed violation detector is present in a close range is checked from installation location information of the speed violation detector from the location registration data memory 220 and current location information of a self-vehicle from a GPS module 120, and when the speed violation detector is present in a close range, a simple road map is displayed.
