<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device in which the number of layers forming a detection unit is reduced to reduce manufacturing costs and layers above a pressure-sensitive detection unit are easy to deform. <P>SOLUTION: A capacitance-type detecting portion 30 that detects a contact position of a finger on the basis of a variation in capacitance is provided on a pressure sensitive detecting portion 20 that includes a lower detection layer 25 formed on a lower base sheet 21 and an upper detection layer 27 formed on an upper base sheet 22. No metallic shielding layer is provided between the pressure sensitive detecting portion 20 and capacitance-type detecting portion 30, thereby reducing the number of layers above the pressure sensitive detecting portion 20 and facilitating the deformation of the upper layer. A voltage is applied to the pressure sensitive detecting portion 20 and the capacitance-type detecting portion 30 such that the application times of the voltages do not overlap each other.
