PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating a mold for molding a honeycomb structure which can regenerate a decrepit mold into a mold which is excellent in durability and abrasion resistance and high in moldability and dimensional accuracy. SOLUTION: The method for regenerating the mold 1 for molding the honeycomb structure, which is provided with a mold body 11 having a feed hole 12 for supplying a material and a slit groove 13 which communicates with the feed hole 12, is formed in the shape of a lattice, and molds the material into a honeycomb shape and has an abraded part (abrasion part 19) includes the film forming process for forming a regenerating curing film 2 with a thickness of 1-10μm on a groove forming surface 130 with the slit groove 13 in the mold body 11 formed and the abraded part (abrasion part 19) of an edge region 14 formed by the intersection of the groove forming surface 130 and the inside surface 131 of the slit groove 13 and the grinding process for grinding the regenerating curing film 2 formed on the groove forming surface 130 at least 50% in the thickness direction.
