PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce vibration in an engine by detecting vibration occurring in an excitation source and controlling an actuator 15 so as to cancel vibration which newly occurs in an intermediate body in accordance with transmission of the vibration to the intermediate body which is a control point. SOLUTION: The active vibration controller supports a body 12 which supports the excitation source by the intermediate body 13 via an intermediate body elastic member 14, is provided with the actuator 15 between the body 12 and the intermediate body 13, calculates damping force Fa for canceling the vibration of the intermediate body 13 by a damping force calculating part 33 based on excitation force F1 calculated from an excitation source acceleration a1 measured by an excitation source accelerometer 21 and a body acceleration a2 measured by a body accelerometer 22, and displacement force F2 calculated from the body acceleration a2 and an intermediate body acceleration a3 measured by an intermediate body accelerometer 23, and outputs a command signal for generating the damping force Fa to the actuator 15 from a signal output part 34.
