摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of energy efficiency of a fuel cell system and to improve startability at low temperatures, in the fuel cell system with a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: When it is estimated after stopping power generation by a fuel cell stack 100 that water generated by electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen during power generation freezes in a membrane electrode assembly provided in the fuel cell stack 100, feeble power generation (temperature gradient formation control) is performed so that the temperature of the membrane electrode assembly becomes relatively higher than the temperature of a separator. This temperature gradient formation control is performed only within a period until a temperature gradient is formed between the membrane electrode assembly and the separator, and is promptly stopped after the temperature gradient is formed between the membrane electrode assembly and the separator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
