<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable air conditioner capable of elongating the service life or capable of saving the energy of an electrostatic atomizer. <P>SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with the electrostatic atomizer for generating electrostatic mist in an indoor unit, and provided with a control means for controlling the indoor unit and the electrostatic atomizer, a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of indoor air, and a humidity sensor for detecting the humidity of the indoor air, and an operation permitting area for permitting the operation of the electrostatic atomizer and a stable atomizing area in the operation permitting area are set based on the temperature and the humidity of the indoor air.
