POWDER COMPOSITIONS

There is disclosed a TGIC-free binder for a thermosetting powder coating composition, the binder comprising a blend of (i) 65 to 97 % by weight of at least one polyester which comprises COOH groups; has an acid number from 10 to 100 mg KOH/g, a Tg > 40°C; and an OH number = 15 mg KOH/g; (ii) 0.5 to 20 % by weight of at least one polyester which comprises OH groups; has an OH number from 10 to 100 mg KOH/g, a Tg > 40°C; and a COOH number = 15 mg KOH/g and (iii) 2.5 to 15 % weight of at least one cross-linker that comprises ß-hydroxyalkylamide groups. Methods for preparing the binder and powder compositions using the binder are also disclosed.
