A vehicle airbag system (A1) includes a vehicle crash sensor that detects a vehicle impact, and an airbag module (50, 60) that is provided in interior equipment (10) positioned in front of a front-seat occupant (Pa) and that includes an inflator (51, 61) and an airbag (52, 62). The vehicle airbag system (A1) further includes a reaction-force plate (20, 30) that receives a reaction force of the airbag (52, 62); a drive unit (40) that moves the reaction-force plate (20, 30) from the storage position (indicated by the solid line) to the predetermined operating position (indicated by the two-dotted line); and a stopper (15, 16) that holds the reaction-force plate (20, 30) at the predetermined operating position.
