PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indentor for measuring hardness for measuring hardness of an object to be measured easily. SOLUTION: The indentor 10 is for measuring hardness of the object 90 to be measured. The indentor 10 includes: an indentor body 11 including a tip 110 reduced in diameter; and a coating layer 15 coating the surface of the tip 110. When the tip 110 is pressed to the object 90 to be measured in measurement of hardness, the coating layer 15 for covering a hollow part 12 in the tip 110 hollowing the object 90 to be measured disappears.
