PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably detect a light emitting object and a reflective object ahead of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A vehicular headlight system 100 includes: a vehicular headlight 10, which can independently irradiate each of a plurality of segmented regions that divide a light distribution region forward of an own vehicle; an irradiation control portion 44, which controls the vehicular headlight 10 so as to repeat irradiation and non-irradiation of light to each segmented region alternately; a camera 40, which respectively images forward of the own vehicle during the irradiation and non-irradiation to the segmented regions, and generates an irradiation image and a non-irradiation image; a high-luminance part detection portion 46, which detects a high-luminance part within the irradiation image and the non-irradiation image; and a light emitting object determination portion 48, which distinguishes and detects a light emitting object and a reflective object present ahead of the vehicle by comparing the presence of the high-luminance part between both images.
