A rotating drum (11) is equipped with a measurement unit (13). The measurement unit (13) comprises a transparent member (13a) and an optical sensor (13b) which are placed at the center region of the inner wall at a given end (11b) of the rotating drum. During coating treatment of a granular material, information on the properties (the coating film thickness, the water content, the coating performance, impurities, and so forth) of the particles of granule layer (A) brought into contact with the surface of the transparent member (13a) is derived by the NIR sensor (13b) in real time through the transparent member (13a). The measurement data is monitored by processing with a processing unit of an NIR spectroscopic analyzer. Based on the measurement result, the coating operation conditions (the air feed rate, the fed air temperature, the spraying conditions, the rotation speed of the rotating drum (1), and so forth) are adjusted suitably by feed-back control or manual control to enable high-quality coating treatment. |
