The machine has a stator whose outer diameter is larger when compared to inner diameter of a housing. A joining unit is fixed on the stator, formed as a ring and arranged at a front side of a laminated stack of the stator, where the ring is made of plastic and metal. The joining unit enlarges the inner diameter of the housing larger than the stator outer diameter during inserting the stator into the housing under exertion of axial pressing force. A wedge-shaped mantle outer surface (8) of the ring is defined by outer diameters of the ring. An independent claim is also included for a method for joining a stator of a dynamo-electric machine.
