PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice coil which is excellent in sound reproducing capability and is suitably attached to an apparatus such as a display, in a thin and long electrodynamic speaker which has a minor axis direction shorter than a major axis direction, regarding the electrodynamic speaker using a planar coil having a winding shaft direction orthogonal to the vibrating direction of a speaker diaphragm, and also to provide the electrodynamic speaker. SOLUTION: The voice coil is configured such that: a first coil and a second coil are planar air-core coils for which a rectangular wire is wound in multiple layers without shifting it relative to a winding shaft, are formed by sticking respective coil end faces with each other so as to match the respective winding shafts; and the first coil and the second coil stuck together are connected in series or in parallel so that a sound signal current flows in the same direction. The voice coil is provided with a reinforcing plate which is housed in an inner peripheral space stipulated by an inner peripheral end part formed by sticking the first coil and the second coil together, and its outer circumferential end part of which is engaged with the inner peripheral end part.
