The box (2) has input terminals (6) for sub-generators and output terminals (10) for an inverter. An adjustable voltage source (22) is assigned to the input terminals, which are connected with the output terminals by an adjustable voltage source (22). The output terminals are connected with direct current (DC) input of the inverter. A signal side connection is provided between a monitoring and control device and the inverter, and the control device adjusts the inverter to a determined setting voltage at the DC input. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a solar system for solar power generation.
