BANDWIDTH CALCULATING METHOD FOR RESOURCE RESERVATION IN MVOIP SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A bandwidth calculation method for resource reservation in a mobile VoIP system is provided to extract a voice codec and a ptime value within a codec-data AVP which a CSCF delivers and accurately produce the required bandwidth of an UL and a DL according to each originating terminal and receiving terminal. CONSTITUTION: A PCRF(Policy and Charging Rule Function) receive an AAR(Authentication, Authorization, Request) message from an originating/receiving CSCF(Call Session Control Function)(301). The PCRF extracts the kind of codec and a ptime value in the codec-data AVP(Attribute Value Pair) of the received AAR message(302). The PCRF accurately produces the required bandwidth of an UL(UpLink) and a DL(DownLink) according to each originating terminal and receiving terminal(303).
