The applicator (1) has an applicator region (5) connected with another applicator region (8) via an articulation e.g. joint ball and joint socket, and linearly movable relative to the latter applicator region. The articulation is formed as a ball-and-socket joint and a hinge joint having a hinge axle such that one of the applicator regions pivots relative to the other applicator region in a plane that contains a longitudinal axis of the applicator. The applicator regions are formed as semicircular applicators and include contact planes.
