The element (1) has a housing (2) including lateral walls (2a, 2b) integrated to a bottom wall (3) positioned on a mobile structure (8) i.e. vehicle. Armor plating modules (6) are mounted on tabs (11) secured to the lateral walls. The modules are individually inserted or removed from the housing through a front opening (10). The modules are arranged opposite to the bottom wall. A stop unit i.e. screw (13), ensures maintenance of each module with respect to the lateral walls when placed between the lateral walls. The modules are separated by a dampening material layer. The armor plating modules are separated by a layer made of a dampening material such as honeycomb material.
