PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twin roll type continuous casting machine in which rolls can be efficiently and inexpensively cooled. SOLUTION: The casting machine 1 includes rolls 2, 2 which are arranged at prescribed intervals and rotate at equal speed in directions reverse to each other, feeds a molten metal 4 to a space between the rolls 2, 2 and continuously casts a planar slab 5. The casting machine 1 further includes: a plurality of cooling chambers 50, 50 which are formed along the circumferential direction at the inside of the rolls 2 and cool the surfaces of the rolls 2; micropores 51, 51... sealing and opening the cooling chambers 50; and an internal rotor 20 and vanes 30, 30... expanding the cooling chambers 50, 50... The cooling chambers 50, 50... are sealed by the clogging of the micropores 51, 51... with the molten metal 4 in a range R1, are expanded by the integrated rotation of the internal rotor 20 and the vanes 30, 30... in a direction reverse to the cooling rollers 10 and are released by the micropores 51, 51... in a range other than the range R1.
