PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is excellent in a display characteristics in low temperature surroundings. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 100 includes: a first substrate 1 with an electrode pair 13 and 14 for driving a liquid crystal molecule; and a second substrate 2 which is arranged in a facing position of the first substrate 1 with a predetermined gap. The second substrate 2 includes: an electrode 21 for heaters, which is arranged in a display area 51 on the side opposite to the first substrate 1, and a frame area 52; and an insulating layer 25 which is arranged above the electrode 21 for heaters so as to cover the electrode 21 for heaters, and includes an overcoat layer 24 having at least a flattening function.
