<p>PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for displaying an EPG(Electrical Program Guide) are provided to increase the readability of the EPG by displaying the EPG based on the variation of brightness and chroma. CONSTITUTION: A broadcast signal reception unit(302) classifies a broadcast signal into broadcast data and EPG data. If an EPG display request signal is received, an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) processor(304) the EPG data to a display unit(305). In the case of the reception of the EPG display request signal, a control unit(306) changes the brightness of the display unit which outputs the broadcast data and displays the EPG data on the display unit in the brightness different from the changed brightness. The control unit adds a cursor to an item selected by the user from the EPG data.</p> |
