PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus that generates an almost ideal parallel traveling wave acoustic field, preferably a one-dimensional parallel traveling wave acoustic field, by using an acoustic tube. SOLUTION: The one-dimensional parallel traveling wave acoustic field generating apparatus 100 has a cylindrical acoustic tube 1, a signal source 4 that generates a sound source signal, a first speaker 2 provided at one end of the acoustic tube 1 to irradiate a sound wave depending on the sound source signal input from the signal source 4 into the acoustic tube 1, a second speaker 3 provided at the other end of the acoustic tube 1 to irradiate a sound wave depending on the sound source signal input from the signal source 4 into the acoustic tube 1, a delay circuit 6 that delays the sound source signal from the signal source 4 by a time period required for the sound wave irradiated from the first speaker 2 to reache to the second speaker 3 and inputs the delayed sound source signal into the second speaker 3, and an amplitude and phase fine tuning circuit 7 that tunes the amplitude and the phase finely with a frequency of the delayed sound source signal. The size in a lateral direction vertical to an axis line in the acoustic tube 1 is set to be smaller than the wavelength of the sound wave irradiated into the acoustic tube 1.
