<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which maintains print quality with the lapse of time and reducing sticking of a developer to a developing sleeve, which is caused by friction between the developer and the developing sleeve. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a developing device housing a two-component developer containing toner comprising at least a binder resin, a colorant, and a wax, and a carrier and performs density adjustment in accordance with the output value of a reference toner pattern formed on a latent image carrier. In the image forming apparatus, for the toner, a proportion of particles having a circle-equivalent diameter of 0.6 to 1.0 μm which are measured by a flow particle image analyzer (FPIA) is 4 to 7 piece%, and a proportion of particles having a circle-equivalent diameter of 0.6 to 2.0 μm is 8 to 12 piece%, and a proportion of particles having a circle-equivalent diameter of 0.6 to 3.0 μm is 18 to 22 piece%. A mean spacing Sm (μm) of irregularities in the longitudinal direction of a developer carrier, an arithmetic average roughness Ra (μm), and a ten-point average roughness Rz (μm) satisfy formulae 20<Sm<60, 0.1<Ra<0.6, and 0<Rz<8.0 respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
