[Class 80 (ii)] A hand-knob 17, for a valve 5 or variable electric condenser, is secured to a spindle 6 by means of a diametral pin 16, passed through or threaded into a hole in the spindle after the knob 17 has been positioned thereon, and retained in a closely fitting recess 18 in the knob by means of an axial compression spring 19. Renewal of stuffing box packing 11 is there by rendered possible without disturbing the setting of the valve 5 The gland-nut 14 may be dispensed with, the spring 19 then serving to compress the packing 11. The valve-body 1 is connected at one end 3 to the head of a blow-pipe, the valve 5 serving to regulate the flow of gas thereto. |
