1394871 Sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 8 May 1972 [8 May 1971] 21426/72 Heading E2S A method of manufacturing a stringer tape comprises the steps of shaping a continuous plastics filament into a meander 1 having interlocking heads 4, legs 3 and bridges 2, bending the thread about the common axis passing through the heads 4, placing the so formed meander in a straddle position over the edge of a carrier tape 6, sewing it onto the tape and cutting off the bridges on at least side of the stringer tape. Grooves may be formed in the leg portions to receive the sewing threads, preferably double strands 8. The filament may have a circular, elliptical or rectangular cross section and may be covered by a strip 7 when sewn onto the tape 6. |
