<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that, in an electric power conversion device using a gray-scale control type inverter, since it is required to increase a pulse width of an output rectangular wave of a first inverter in the case of high system voltage, the maximum voltage value to be output by a second inverter becomes almost the same as a voltage value of the output rectangular wave of the first inverter, and as a result, a large rated voltage is required for the second inverter and components used in the circumference of the same. <P>SOLUTION: A first DC voltage command value is decided based on a target output voltage. A voltage adjusting device outputs a first DC voltage according to the first DC voltage command value. In addition, a pulse width at which a balance of a charge power to a second DC power supply and a discharge power from the second DC power supply in a predetermined cycle becomes zero is decided.
