<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a tumble flow in an internal combustion engine configured such that an intake air port 6 and an exhaust port 7 are opened in a combustion chamber 5 at the top of a cylinder 2, and the tumble flow T in which a flow in a direction toward the piston, at a top surface 3a of the piston 3, is reversed to a flow toward a direction away from the piston is added to intake air from the intake air port, and meanwhile valve recesses 10, 11 are formed as recesses on the top surface of the piston. <P>SOLUTION: At a portion, in the top surface 3a of the piston 3, where the valve recesses 10, 11 approach to an outer peripheral surface 3b of the piston, recesses 14, 15 communicated with the outer peripheral surface 3b of the piston are formed as recesses, and bottom surfaces 10a, 11a of the valve recesses are tilted such that the depth from the top surface of the piston is increased toward the center of the piston. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
