<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft thickening/fitting method by which a bonding force is surely improved, and to provide a rotor produced by the method. <P>SOLUTION: The shaft thickening/fitting method includes: inserting a metallic shaft 10 into the insertion hole 21 of a member 20 to be fitted; holding the shaft 10 by the holders 41, 42 in such a state that the shaft 10 is fitted into the insertion hole; rotating around a reference axis line CL in a holding state; and fixing the member 20 to the shaft 10 by bending the fitted portion against the reference axis line CL to increase the diameter of the shaft 10. A groove 22 is previously formed on the inner peripheral face of the insertion hole, and when thickening the shaft 10, the thickening part 13 is made to break into the groove 22.
