PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pixel with a structure capable of low-voltage driving through a simple process.

SOLUTION: When a digital video signal is input from a source signal line to a pixel through a switching TFT 101, a voltage compensation circuit 110 amplifies the voltage of the digital video signal or converts the amplitude of the voltage of the digital video signal and then applies the voltage to a gate electrode of a driving TFT 102. This allows the ON/OFF control of a transistor in a pixel correctly even through the power supply voltage for driving a gate signal line is reduced.
