<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and compositions for treating Stargardt Disease in a mammal, or for treating or preventing diseases or conditions in a mammal having a mutant ABCA4 gene or a mutant ELOV4 gene, the methods and compositions for treating disorders associated with retinoid-related physiological manifestations, wherein the diseases or conditions are recessive retinitis pigmentosa, cone-rod dystrophy, recessive cone-rod dystrophy, or nonexudative age-related macular degeneration. <P>SOLUTION: The composition contains an effective amount of N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)retinamide or N-(4-methoxyphenyl)retinamide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
