<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die rotating type injection molding machine and a method for rotating a rotary table for the die rotating type injection molding machine provided with the rotary table mounted with dies, rotatably by a belt relative to a fixed plate or a movable plate, and adapted to secure the degree of design freedom or to reduce cost without need to fix the belt to the rotary table. <P>SOLUTION: The die rotating type injection molding machine 11 provided with the rotary table 21 mounted with the dies 29a, 29b, rotatably by the belt 26 relative to the fixed plate 15 or the movable plate 19, includes the rotary table 21 having a belt engaging part 28 on the outer peripheral side; an electric motor 23 provided at the side of the rotary table 21; and the belt 26 having a joint part 32 at which the ends are joined to each other, and transmitting driving of the electric motor 23 to the rotary table 21.
