The cap has a long skirt with a circular weakened line dividing it into upper and lower sections. A small plate is formed in a part of the weakened line and joined to the rest of the skirt portion only by separate lugs. One of these is joined to the upper and the other to the lower part of the skirt. Several such plates can be formed, evenly spaced along the weakened line. Each plate can be circular, and symmetrical in relation to the weakened line, or rectangular. The plate can carry an inspection mark, or instructions. The object is to allow easy re-use of the cap to seal the wine bottle etc. after initial breakage of seal. |
