PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal capable of suppressing unintended input due to misoperation when sliding a display housing relative to an operation housing without lowering operability.SOLUTION: A portable information terminal includes: an operation housing 20 provided with operation keys 22; a display housing 10 provided with a touch panel 11; a connection portion connecting the display housing 10 to the operation housing 20 slidably; a terminal state detection section 106 detecting a terminal state being an open state, a neutral state, or a closed state; a touch operation detection section 102 detecting a start and an end of operation on the touch panel 11; and an operation input section 105 generating an operation signal corresponding to touch panel operation at the end of the operation. The operation input section 105 generates the operation signal corresponding to the operation on the touch panel 11 on the basis of a result of comparison between a terminal state at the start of the operation and a terminal state at the end of the operation. |
